What is Yoga?
Yoga as I know yoga.
Yoga is the stilling of the mind. Linking movement with the breath, awareness turns inwards and a sense of calmness prevails. With a regular practice the body becomes strong, the mind becomes strong. The world opens as a renewed sense of awareness exists and a feeling of connectedness from within, with our environment and with those around us is experienced.
The physical practice of the yoga asana (postures) is only the beginning of the yoga path. To find a teacher that connects with you and the space that allows you to grow are essential ingredients for your yoga journey. It is a relationship that must exist if you want your yoga to be more than just another gym class. But, in any case don't take yourself or yoga too seriously, yoga is to be enjoyed by all and enjoy all that yoga has to offer you.
